Cloud fundamentals

 What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage (cloud storage) and computing power, without direct active management by the user.

Its a Pay as you go service , where you don’t need to buy ,own or maintain physical data centres and servers, you can access technology services, such as computing power, storage, and

databases, on an as-needed basis from a cloud provider like Amazon Web Services (AWS).

What are the benefits of cloud computing?

1.Agility - It goes access to board range of technology so that you can innovate faster

2.Elasticity - You don’t need to over provision the resources

3.Cost savings - Trade fixed expenses (such as data centers and physical servers) for variable expenses, and only pay for IT as you

4.Deploy globally in minutes

Cloud Computing Models

1.Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

Infrastructure as a Service provides you with the highest level of flexibility and management control over your IT resources. It contains the basic building blocks for cloud IT and typically provide access to networking features, computers (virtual or on dedicated hardware).

2.Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Platforms as a service remove the need for organisations to manage the underlying infrastructure (usually hardware and operating systems) and allow you to focus on the deployment and management of your applications.

3.Software as a Service (SaaS)

Software as a Service provides you with a completed product that is run and managed by the service provider.

What are the different cloud Computing Deployment Models

1.On-premises

Deploying resources on-premises, using virtualisation and resource management tools, is called private cloud. In most cases this deployment model is the same as legacy IT infrastructure while using application management and virtualization technologies to try and increase resource utilization.

2.Public Cloud

A cloud-based application is fully deployed in the cloud and all parts of the application run in the cloud. Applications in the cloud have either been created in the cloud or have been migrated from an existing infrastructure to take advantage of the benefits of cloud computing.

3. Hybrid cloud

A hybrid deployment is a way to connect infrastructure and applications between cloud-based resources and existing resources that are not located in the cloud. hybrid deployment is between the cloud and existing on-premises infrastructure.

Data center Vs Cloud storage service

Data Center :- A data center is server hardware maintained on company premises where you can store and access data through your local network. An in-house IT department typically maintains an on-premises data center.

Cloud Storage service :- A cloud storage service is a version of a data center that is not located on your company’s physical premises. It enables access to your business data via the internet.

Advantage of  using AWS cloud

1.Trade fixed expense for variable expense

Pay only when you consume computing resources, and pay only for how much you consume.

2.Benefit from massive economies of scale.

By using cloud computing, you can achieve a lower variable cost than you can get on your own.

3.Stop guessing capacity

Eliminate guessing on your infrastructure capacity needs

4.Increase speed and agility

In a cloud computing environment, new IT resources are only a click away, which means that you reduce the time to make those resources available to your developers from weeks to just minutes.

5.Stop spending money running and maintaining data centers

6. Go Goobal in minutes.

Top Cloud Service Providers

The top 7 cloud market leaders are:

AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, Oracle, IBM, and Tencent Cloud.

The worldwide cloud market is dominated by four cloud service providers: Alibaba in China and Asia-Pacific, and AWS, Microsoft, and Google in other countries.

P.S. If you read it till the end, Thank you!...
